How do I frame my CANVAS PRINT?

You received your gorgeous rolled canvas print and want to finish it off with a frame…. what next?
I recommend taking your piece to your local framer for the best results, but here are a few DIY options as well.

Stretched or Gallery Wrapped

If you are looking to have the canvas stretched onto a frame, I would definitely recommend taking it to a local framer to have it stretched. Keep in mind that you will lose 1-2 inches of the print around the edge in order for it to be wrapped around the stretcher bars. For example, if you want the final stretched size to be 16x20, I suggest purchasing the 18x24 size.

Mounted on Panel

If you want the final piece to go edge-to-edge in the frame without any white border around it, I would recommend getting some double-sided tape and a gallery frame like the ones listed below. Take the frame apart and you can mount the rolled canvas directly to the back panel or get some mat board that is the same size as the frame and attach it to that using the double sided tape.

Matted

Choose a frame with matting and mount the rolled canvas to the inside of the matting using an acid-free archival tape, making sure that the picture is displayed clearly within the mat.

How do I frame my original ARTWORK?

You purchased an original painting and want to get it framed… what next?
I recommend taking your piece to your local framer for the best results, but here are a few DIY options as well.

Canvas Floater

Choose a canvas floater frame for original artwork on canvas. This gives the artwork a suspended look and covers all the sides.

Floating Gallery Frame

Choose a floating frame for original artwork on paper to give it a museum look.

As always, I recommend taking your artwork to a professional framer, who knows how to do it and has all the necessary tools.
