So far, we have seen the little one on a sonogram and heard his/her little heartbeat - a whopping 160bpm! I think everything is still sinking in for both Drew and me, but hearing that thumping heartbeat made everything so much more real to us. Seeing it made us realize that we weren't imagining this little baby, but that it was actually in there! Ha ha ha, I know that sounds weird, but it's so true. One of our deepest desires since being married has been to become parents one day - and that day now has a countdown attached!!! It's such a weird combination of emotions - joy, excitement, fear, pure happiness, and anticipation. Plus with all these extra hormones in me, there's even more emotions on my side of things!
Something we didn't expect was how difficult it would be to keep this secret! We found ourselves blurting it out on many occasions and just wanting to tell the whole world, "HEY, GUESS WHAT?!?! WE ARE SO PREGNANT!!" We have enjoyed hearing and seeing friends' and family's reactions to our fun news :) It's also been super wonderful and helpful to have a best friend going through the same thing just 3 months ahead of me! Savannah and I are so excited to have kids who will be close in age, can play together, and grow up together. It's been so much fun talking about baby stuff and transitioning to this new phase of life at the same time. We had talked before about how fun it would be to be pregnant at the same time, but I had no idea it would be this time around! :)
My favorite moments so far after realizing we were pregnant were: 1 \\ The look on Drew's face after we heard the heartbeat for the first time. 2 \\ Drew staying up late one night looking up and learning lullabies to sing to the "little one" (he has an absolutely beautiful singing voice). 3 \\ Taking walks together and praying over our "little one" 4 \\ Telling friends and family our exciting news!
I've been so excited to tell you all our news!! Thanks so much for sharing in this excitement with me :) We can't wait to meet our "little one" in May!
